![]() The tenth generation of hand-assembled cables joins a growing lineup of power accessories and high-end speakers as Esprit nears its 30-year anniversary. Confolens, France – ESPRIT the French audio brand known for its high-end speakers and hand-built cables that “disappear” into a system rather than color it, announces the U.S. arrival of Generation 10—the tenth-generation cable lineup, also referred to as Generation X—delivering the most extensive update in the company’s near-30-year history. Following its European debut at High End Vienna 2026 in June, Generation 10 is now available to order through Esprit’s authorized U.S. dealers. Homegrown in the French Countryside, Esprit was founded in 1997 by Richard Cesari, a lifelong music fan and hi-fi enthusiast whose career in audio began with a simple hobby—hand-building cables for his personal system. The results were so extraordinary that friends began to request his cables, and soon after, audio enthusiasts near and far. Nearly three decades later, Esprit has evolved into an internationally celebrated hi-fi brand that has stayed true to its roots, specializing in high-end, high-performance cables, while expanding into other segments including power accessories and high-end speakers. The philosophy of Esprit is simple: for the best result, use the best materials—and know how to use them correctly. As Cesari explains, “It’s like a recipe: if you don’t know how to combine the ingredients, you can have the best ingredients in the world and still get it wrong. On the other hand, if you know how to combine the ingredients, you can achieve exceptional results.” (Quotes from Richard Cesari have been translated from the original French.) ![]() What’s New in Generation 10 Esprit offers nine cable ranges: ALPHA, BETA, CELESTA, ETERNA, AURA, LUMINA, EURÊKA, GAÏA, and L’ESPRIT. The lineup includes speaker cables and jumpers, RCA and XLR analog interconnects, phono cables, digital interconnects (S/PDIF, AES/EBU, USB, Ethernet, and master clock) and AC power cords. With Generation 10, Esprit has comprehensively re-engineered every cable across its entire lineup from the entry-level ALPHA to the reference range L’ESPRIT, starting with revised dimensions and geometries, and completely reworked connectors. The new connectors use less material in the signal path and, depending on the range, employ pure copper, silver-plated pure copper, or the most advanced solution—pure silver center pins. The most significant technical shift is electrical. Specifically, on certain architectures, Esprit has moved from the symmetrical 0.08mm conductor structure used in Generation 9 to an asymmetrical design pairing 0.08mm strands on the positive conductor with 0.30mm strands on the negative conductor. This change delivers greater dynamics and a more natural presentation in listening tests. Insulation has also been reworked with the rigid insulating material now applied under vacuum for a harder, more stable structure, resulting in greater control and definition in the low frequencies. Partial shielding technology carried over from Generation 9 remains in place across applicable cables and select ranges that already used polarization now feature double polarization. “The engineering developments with Generation 10 are significant, but our goal remains to make cables that are exceptionally detailed, dynamic, quiet, and natural, without ever tiring the listener,” said Cesari. Esprit High End has been honored with numerous international media and industry awards over the years, and with the introduction of Generation 10, the best is yet to come. ![]() ![]() |
