Priced at $899, Cubitt 5 combines Fyne Audio’s 5” IsoFlare point-source driver with 240 W of DSP-controlled amplification, an active crossover, and 24-bit/96 kHz digital playback. Its high-density, internally braced cabinet and front-firing bass port allow the speaker to deliver substantial performance from an enclosure suited to bookshelves, desktops, and shared living spaces. The IsoFlare driver places the high-frequency unit at the acoustic center of the bass/midrange driver, helping sound radiate from a single point. Fyne Audio’s FyneFlute surround is engineered to terminate unwanted energy at the edge of the driver cone, while the active crossover and dedicated class-D amplification allow the system’s electronics and drivers to be optimized together. Cubitt 5 can serve as the center of a complete home audio system. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and AAC provides convenient wireless playback, while HDMI ARC/eARC allows the speakers to replace a conventional soundbar for television sound. Optical digital and analog RCA inputs accommodate additional sources, and a built-in phonostage supports moving-magnet and high-output moving-coil cartridges.
